The okPDF project

okPDF.org

okPDF was created to make everyday PDF tasks accessible: merge documents, organize pages, add a signature image or recover text from a scan.

Who runs the project

The project is operated by Davit Janashia, in Italy.

How the tools work

The site provides the browser with the necessary program. After you choose a file, your device does the processing and prepares a copy for download. We do not have an online archive of your documents and an okPDF account is not required.

Your documents’ journey

  1. Download the tools

The browser downloads the site and, when needed, processing engines, fonts and OCR models. These downloads require a connection and do not contain your document.

  2. Process on your device

When you choose a file, the tool reads it in the browser tab and works on your device. The contents of PDFs, images and signatures are not uploaded to our servers.

  3. Save a new copy

The result is prepared in the browser for download. Keep the original, check the copy and use the command to start over when you are done.

Document privacy is separate from technical visit data: the provider may process, for example, IP addresses and HTTP requests to deliver and protect the site. The privacy notice describes this processing. Privacy

Check with a sample file

On a computer, you can open the Network panel in your browser’s developer tools and try a guide sample. During processing, you may see downloads of processing engines or fonts: these are different from sending the document. okPDF tools do not upload your file to a conversion service.

Free, with limitations explained

All 20 tools are free. Limits on file size, pages and processing time help manage memory use. Signatures are added as images, comparison is manual and compression is designed for scans. Each tool page explains its capabilities.

This version does not show ads. Any future introduction of ads will be accompanied by updated information on data processing and the necessary consent choices.

How we test the tools

We tested the features with PDFs and images created specifically for testing, including text in several languages and edge cases. We also checked the text, pages and appearance of downloaded files.

These tests cover specific cases: they do not certify every document, browser or device. With OCR, always check names, numbers and amounts.

A result to check

Keep the original and check the copy: advanced PDF features, unusual layouts and OCR text may need attention.
